Capt. Dave Monti has been fishing for over 45 years, for fifteen years he held a scallop license on Nantucket were he fished recreationally in the winter months. Monti holds a captain’s master license and is a fishing writer and conservation fish advocate. He is a respected fishing journalist often writing about fishing regulations, climate change, ocean wind farms and climate change and its impact on fish and habitat. Virginia Joan

Fish on the Virginia Joan, a custom designed Carolina Skiff center console with a MINN KOTA electric motor with spot lock. The vessel features a 115 horsepower Yamaha engine. The Virginia Joan is perfectly suited for light tackle, fly fishing and bottom fishing as well as fishing with eels, menhaden and trolling for striped bass. It has a wide beam and presents a stable fishing platform. The vessel is designed for 360 degree wide open fishing spaces with light tackle and fly fishing for striped bass, bluefish, bonito and false albacore, bottom fish for fluke, tautog, and black sea bass and scup, or trolling for striped bass and bluefish.
